Universal Taco Marinade
Shrimp, Chicken, Steak.... it just works
I’ve tested and tweaked this recipe several times and I think it would be good on anything. We’ve been using it for taco meats but read through and if you think you’d like to use it for something else, by all means please do! Let me know what you made and how it turned out.
The chipotle peppers in adobo sauce add a smokiness and a bit of heat. The orange and honey add sweetness and a freshen things up.
Ingredients
1/4 cup avocado oil (thank you high smoke point!)
2 chipotle peppers (canned)
2 tablespoons adobo sauce
1 can (4oz) diced green chiles
juice from 1/2 of an orange
4-6 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
2 teaspoons kosher / sea salt
Instructions
Easy - just combine all ingredients in a blending device of your choosing, and blend the heck out of it.
For chicken + steak I recommend marinating for 2-4 hours.
For shrimp I recommend marinating for 30-60 minutes.
