My favorite way to marinate flank steak.
The star of my Chili Citrus Flank Steak Tacos w/ Mango Pico.
1lb flank steak
2 tablespoons avocado oil
2 limes, juiced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more!)
1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed orange juice
1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, smashed and cut in half
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Add all non-steak ingredients to a plastic bag (gallon sized) & mix them together. Then add in the steak, remove as much air as possible and let sit for at least 30 minutes up to overnight. I like to start mine in the morning and let sit until ready to cook for dinner.
Preheat oven to 350
In a large cast iron skillet, heat two tablespoons avocado oil over medium+ heat until shimmery. Add in your steak and half the marinade. Let sit for three minutes, flip and let sit another three minutes.
Transfer to the oven and cook 15 minutes. Remove. Let sit for 15 minutes then cut into thin slices against the grain.
